Position Summary:
Reporting to the Director of Materials Management, the Stores Supervisor oversees the physical supply chain systems and processes that support the replenishment and distribution of Just in Time inventories. The Stores Supervisor leads strategic initiatives to optimize systems and process efficiencies and is the primary logistics liaison for both internal leadership and external supply chain partners (Mohawk Medbuy Corporation). The Stores Supervisor provides leadership to Supply Distribution Attendants by providing direction, instructions and guidance to the Stores - Materials Management for the purpose of providing uninterrupted supply chain for medical surgical supplies to care providers within the organization. To ensure that both operational and service level goals and objectives are met.
Additional responsibilities include planning and budgeting, staff recruitment and training.
The Stores Supervisor is responsible for ordering and maintaining inventory supplies within a computerized environment. The Stores Supervisor will also perform various inventory tasks such as establishes and/or revises supply cart reorder points and quantities, leads inventory audits. Contacts suppliers and representatives, controls inventory content and levels, as well as prepares relevant records and reports.

Qualifications, Experience, Skills and Abilities:
- Diploma or Degree in Supply Chain, Business Administration or related field.
- Minimum of 2 to 4 years of recent experience with computerized inventory materials management systems and handheld barcode technology
- Experience with Electronic Data Interchange (E.D.I.) and understanding of general procurement principles
- Experience directly supervising staff, preferably in a unionized workplace
- Thorough working knowledge of all Stores or Warehouse job routines, policies and procedures
- Demonstrated knowledge of supply chain management applications and forecasting techniques including Just In Time (JIT)
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of accounting principles and procedures
- Intermediate level computer proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and recent working knowledge of Meditech
- Demonstrated strong attention to detail and accuracy to conduct cycle counts and oversee cycle count program to ensure inventory is accurately maintained
- Strong organizational skills with demonstrated ability to multi-task in a fast paced, high volume, results oriented environment
- Demonstrated strong leadership skills
- Demonstrated ability to work independently to establish work priorities and coordinate work and inventory flow
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written along with the ability to provide staff training and to act as a liaison with other hospital departments
- Proven independent decision making and critical thinking skills to perform detailed analytic analyses, identify problems and recommend as well as implement solutions for process improvement
- Ability to function effectively as part of a team with demonstrated success in working well with various groups to provide excellent customer service for both internal hospital clients as well as external vendors, suppliers and sales representatives
- Ability to resolve a variety of work-related issues, as well as prepare and submit progress and other reports as required
- Ability to participate in Quality Improvement Initiatives such as Lean Processes
- Ability to walk and stand for extended periods, and adjust to changes in a fast-paced, varied work routine
- Physical ability to lift, stoop, bend, and push
- Demonstrated commitment to excellent customer service in all interactions
